In lieu of traditional activities that NYCCAL organizes such as rallies and legislative visits, which are not possible due to the COVID-19 crisis, adult literacy providers can join virtual advocacy efforts instead to urge New York City to restore funding for adult literacy programs in FY2021. We will be holding Virtual Advocacy Rallies every Friday for the next few weeks. On Friday May 8, 2020, we ask that you participate in a virtual celebration of Teacher Appreciation Week by sending out Tweets and Instagram messages to our elected officials to support funding for Adult Education.
